Head Coach:
Leah Woodard Damm joined the Blue Marlins in 2024 as the Head Coach. She is currently on staff as an Age-Group Coach for San Antonio Streamline Aquatics (SASA).
Leah began swimming at the age of two and has been involved in the swimming world ever since. By the age of eight, she joined her first USA swimming club where she earned multiple championship titles such as STAGS, TAGS, and Texas All Star Champion, achieved top 16 times in the Nation, finaled in several events as a participant of the South Texas Zones Team at the Southern Zones Championship, held a national relay record, and participated in Junior and Senior Nationals multiple times.
In high school, Leah was a four-year Varsity team member, a HS State Finalist and a highly decorated All American Athlete. She received full scholarships to attend Division 1 Colleges, Florida State and University of Toledo, where she held multiple conference championships and records. She majored in Early Childhood Education.
Leah began coaching in 2001 as an assistant summer league coach. She became the head coach of a summer league team in 2004. By 2009, Leah was the head coach of her first USA swimming program, BSC in Ohio. In 2010 she moved back to Texas and soon began coaching for Streamline Aquatics.
Leah has been an active member for South Texas Swimming. She has served as the LSC's Awards Chair, New Club Development Chair and as a Board of Review member. She has coached all levels of swimming, from developmental to the national level. She was selected to coach for South Texas Zones Championships multiple times. She has helped swimmers achieve TAGS State finalist and State Championship titles, Sectionals and Futures finalist, and Jr. National qualifications. Several of her swimmers went on to swim at the Nationals and gain full ride scholarships to Division 1 colleges.
Leah engages swimmers utilizing a process driven technique. Her mission statement is to foster social, emotional, and physical development through daily interactions and activities, to facilitate a safe environment for swimmers to develop life skills such as goal setting and time management, and to instill a life-long love of the sport of swimming. Coach Leah says, "Happy swimmers are fast swimmers." Coaching swim is her passion!
Certifications: American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard, Concussion and Safe Sport. Also certified in the Foundations of Coaching and is a USA Swimming Official Coach.
